Cleanup Tracking: How to track your nature cleanup with EcoNation?
EcoNation has created a new cleanup tracking tool that helps you increasing transparency to gain more sponsors.
EcoNation offers a solution that makes it easy to track your cleanup efforts while also getting rewarded for it. By using the EcoNation mixed-reality app, you can start your cleanup, take a picture of the collected trash, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
- Amount waste collected
- Location of the cleanup
- Route of the cleanup
- Type of waste collected
- Products collected
This information is used to generate KPIs like the amount of CO2 saved, the number of items recycled, and the amount of plastic collected. All information can be simply shared with your project sponsors in your dashboard.
But that’s not all – with EcoNation, you will also be rewarded for your cleanup efforts. Every time you track a cleanup activity, you earn EcoCredits, which can be exchanged for rewards like coupons or products in our marketplace. This incentivizes continued efforts and helps raise awareness about the importance of proper waste disposal and environmental protection.

Let's track a CleanUp step by step:
Step 1: Before the CleanUp
To get started, download the EcoNation app for free on your Android or iOS device and begin your cleanup.
Once logged in you press the Impact-Button on the map screen and select “CleanUp”.
Now you start your CleanUp-Tracking automatically and see on the top of the mobile screen your statistics.
Step 2: During the CleanUp
During the Nature CleanUp you have the opportunity to add proof to your collection and saving the geolocation for each tracking.
By pressing “Add” you see three Options:
1. Scan it: Scan a Barcode
2. +1: Simply add a collection activity to your CleanUp
3. Photo it: Add a picture during the CleanUp
Once ready with your CleanUp press “Stop” and decide if you want to delete or finish your CleanUp. Have in mind: If you press delete you will delete the CleanUp data permanently from the system.
Press “Finish CleanUp” and see your statistics.
Now we enter an important milestone: Decide if you can dispose your collected waste directly at a spotted recycling station or if you want to do that at a later point.
If you can’t find right away a recycling station – no worries.
Each CleanUp data is stored for 7 days to give you some time to find a recycling station.
In step 10a. you are able to dispose the waste now and choose the nearest location around you to track your disposal and finish your CleanUp.
Once you find a recycling station you simply choose “Recycle” on the menu and select “”Link your Disposal with CleanUp”.
Now you can select your tracked CleanUp and finish the Disposal.
