Sport Group Partners with EcoNation to Pioneer Innovative ESG-Initiative

Sport Group Holding GmbH, one of the world’s largest business dedicated to sport surfaces, has joined forces with the fortunate planet AG, a leading sustainability software company, to launch a groundbreaking initiative aimed at tracking and improving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities within the organization and international projects that enhance circularity.

Sport Group, renowned for its contributions to iconic venues such as Olympic hockey arenas and Bayern Munich, is committed to transforming the sports surface industry. In a strategic move towards a more sustainable future, the company has chosen the EcoNation platform to monitor and enhance ESG-related activities among its employees and within its global projects, including an initiative in Bhutan.

The EcoNation platform, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ecosystem, will enable Sport Group to quantify, verify, and certify the impact of activities that contribute to improved ESG ratings in 2024. The platform offers real-time tracking through a Monitoring Dashboard, Impact Certification for ESG reporting, and fosters community engagement through monthly challenges. Notably, it provides a comprehensive mapping and geolocation feature, ensuring the highest level of tracking transparency for each impact activity within a circular economy.

“Sport Group is committed to being a leader not only in sports surfaces but also in sustainability. Our partnership with EcoNation marks a significant step towards a more environmentally and socially responsible future,” said Klaus Hauschulte, COO at Sport Group. Further continues Lisa Rosskothen, Global ESG-Expert at Sport Group: “By leveraging the EcoNation platform, we aim to empower our employees and support international projects to contribute measurably to ESG improvements.”

The collaboration underscores Sport Group’s dedication to combining excellence in sports infrastructure with a strong ESG focus. This initiative reflects their vision for a sustainable and transparent business model, aligning with the changing dynamics of the modern world.
